生命伦理学 附录一学术自述

1978年我调往中国社会科学院哲学研究所。到了哲学所，我面临着科研方向的重要抉择。我决定选择科学哲学和生命伦理学作为我今后科研的主要方向。由于闭关多年，我们对世界科学哲学的长足发展一无所知，对波普尔、库恩等科学哲学家一无所知。实际上，自然辩证法是中国马克思主义派的科学哲学，但不参加科学哲学的国际对话，是无法进一步发展自己的。对新出现的生命伦理学这一新领域也一无所知。当时，汝信教授在《人民日报》发表一篇文章，要求哲学家重视对科学技术的研究和人的研究，给哲学研究指出了方向。所以我到哲学所后的工作就是在科学哲学和生命伦理学两个领域内开展研究，后来由于生命伦理学问题的紧迫性，我差不多主要精力放在生命伦理学上。现在有个论点，认为“哲学就是哲学史”。我不认为我们的哲学家应该将黑格尔的这个论点作为自己的座右铭。这将使我们的哲学和哲学家永远禁锢在象牙塔里，离开现实的生活越来越远。哲学应该随着生活、科技、社会的发展而发展。虽然哲学系学生学习哲学史，以及有一些人研究哲学史是必要的，但如果哲学的研究尽在故纸堆里，与现实的社会生活毫无关系，那么社会要哲学家干什么，纳税人有理由“不管饭”。由于篇幅的关系，我主要谈谈生命伦理学方面的研究。
