整本书就在这里结束了。我最希望每一位读者都可以带走这一句话:我们每一个人都是看脸的高手。我们对于面孔的识别和判断,不应只是一个心血来潮的“新计划”,而是人类进化过程中的一个适应器:为了更好地生存,我们需要有判断清楚周围人的能力,也需要有能力选择正确的对象交流合作,避开不适合的对象。虽然单纯依靠面孔判断他人是鲁莽的,单从面孔就歧视他人的行为是粗鲁的,但是我们感受到面孔所传递的信息并不是无序的信息,而是能够反映一些潜藏特征的指示器。

在结语中不光需要总结整本书的内容,我也想稍微总结一下我的心情。其实这本书我不该这么早写出来。首先,是因为我在学术上造诣不足,难免对于概念有理解的偏差,也会因为经验的缺失难以把握住大的方向;不过我用最大的精力保证最大程度的精确。其次,经典的学术专著都是我所敬仰的大师在学术生涯后期的总结之作,和他们相比我只能感觉到渺小。但是既然写,我就希望能写好,至少在精确性上,我尽了最大可能保证转述精确。希望大家读得愉快,也希望大家不吝赐教。写作时,我时时刻刻会紧张和担心,写完之后甚至没有如释重负之感,反而更加想努力搞科研,又有哪一位科研工作者不想要拼尽全力呢?
