纳尔逊·曼德拉于12月5日逝世。他的悼念仪式成为各国政要汇集的峰会，也是全球媒体关注的焦点。大量的文章缅怀他在狱中不懈斗争的岁月，追忆他终结种族隔离和争取民族和解的努力。然而，伟人的辞世不只是一个哀悼与纪念的时刻，也是一个反思的时刻。对许多知识分子来说，纪念曼德拉更恰当的方式，是清醒地认识他的道德与政治遗产，而不是将他送上神坛去颂扬和祭拜。
