在分析国际问题的准确性上，所有的国际关系理论追其根源都离不开这四个方面的影响。理想主义和现实主义在国际问题上的分歧也往往表现在这几个方面。我们今后在对国际关系理论进行分析时也应该抓住这四个问题。在第一次论战中，理想主义理论上的失败和现实主义的胜利并不能说明它们某一方的观点是完全正确的。否则，今天就不会出现受理想主义影响的自由主义，也不会有种种新的理论流派接二连三地对现实主义进行批判。
