以上谈到的只是中国当前所面临问题的几个侧面，还有社会发展滞后、技术能力不强、地方保护主义盛行、全球化挑战加剧、法律法规体系不够完善等政治、经济、社会乃至来自外部的各方面存在的众多问题需要去发现和一一解决。这些问题都是切实存在着的，如果在一定时期内得不到有效解决，任何一个问题严重到一定程度都会带来社会经济大的矛盾，甚至威胁到政治体系的稳定。而如果没有稳定的政治经济大环境作为保证，发掘经济潜力、维持高速增长的目标也就无从实现。

综上所述，中国有强大的潜力将当前强劲的增长势头再维持20年甚至更久，并在2030年或更早些时候重登其世界第一经济大国的宝座。为此，中国需要克服很多内在的问题。接下来的几讲将具体分析如何发掘中国的潜力并克服这些问题。
