【解答】英文的动词有四种，即完全自动词，不完全自动词，完全他动词，不完全他动词。句中 make 后面接有宾语的 him 一看便知是他动词。但同一他动词，有时用作完全他动词，有时又用作不完全他动词。完全他动词后面接一个或两个宾语，不完全他动词后面接上宾语，还是不完全，必得再加上一个补语，才能表出一个完全的意念。 God made the country，and man made the town.（上帝造乡村，人造城市。）是后接一个宾语的他动词 make；至于 Mother made me a new suit.（母亲为我做了一套新衣。）是接两个宾语的他动词 make。这都是完全他动词。若说 I make it a rule to take a nap after lunch every day.（我每天午餐后照例睡一下。）这就是不完全他动词的 make，因为在宾语 it 后接的 a rule 不是宾语，而是补语。质问的例句中的 make，是完全他动词，今被视作不完全他动词，所以译成中文就讲不通了。 She will make him a good wife.（她将成为他的好妻子。）= She will make a good wife for him.（她要为他而做好妻子。）句中有两个宾语，前面的 him 为间接宾语，后面的 a good wife 为直接宾语。同样的造句还有：
