在做英译汉的时候，要想把原文中的“那股劲儿”翻译出来，还真不是一件容易的事情。虽说能够把“那股劲儿”翻译出来的人，其英文和中文功底都不会很浅，不过，如何将“那股劲儿”恰到好处地表现出来，既让读者直接感受到原文所表达的意思，同时又不让译文出现“节外生枝”的情况，还是有一些方法的。

（1）顺着英文的意思，将习惯性的中文说法和盘托出，而不是局限在与英语词汇的表面对接上，如：When asked if he was a man or mouse：“Put a piece of cheese on the floor，and you’ll find out.”（当人们问他是人还是耗子时，他说：“放块奶酪在地上，你就知道了。”）。这里的“你就知道了”，是中文的习惯说法，意思明确，充分反映了原文的语气。如果对着英文的you’ll find out翻译成“你就会找出答案来”，不但不顺溜，同时也没有准确表达出原文的语气。
