地缘政治学：二分论及其超越·兼论地缘整合中的中国选择 本书以马克思主义为指导，在批判和借鉴意义上对地缘政治学思想史和理论史的丰富遗产进行了系统和深入的研究。提出地缘政治学主流理论从地理差异和政治差异出发贯穿和延续着一条二分论主脉，主要体现为四种两相对峙的学派，即海权论和陆权论、“大陆心脏地带”学说和“边缘地带”学说、“核心区域—边缘区域”的地缘经济分割论及地面空间论和空中空间论。鉴于这四种学说在整体上反映了地缘政治学的性质、内部结构和理论特征，本书用地缘政治学二分论加以概括，并认为它可对地缘政治学发展的内在规律作出高度抽象和简约的反映。本书一方面从二分论的新视角对地缘政治学进行了整合式的研究，认为上述理论虽然表面上具有排他性，但实际上既相互对立又彼此呼应，形成了有着内在联系的理论群，需要从整体上加以观照。例如，海权论和陆权论都需要超越自身而从海陆关系上看待，“大陆心脏地带”学说和“边缘地带”学说则需要摒弃片面性而兼顾两大地带的关系；另一方面，本书在此基础上还进一步对“地缘政治和地缘政治学都是二分的”这一传统命题提出挑战，着重指出了地缘政治学作为一个学科所存在的偏颇和不足。认为地缘政治学的出路在于以互动论思维取代决定论思维，以融合性思维取代对抗性思维，并以多元化的研究视角和方式突破二分论的理论框架。

本书还研究了作为地缘政治大国的中国的地缘政治地位和战略选择，提出中国虽然在地缘政治上是一分为二的，但在战略选择上则必须合二而一，兼顾海陆，贯通“心脏—边缘”两大地带，平衡东西两向。这些新观点为国家决策和外交战略选择提供了值得重视的参照系。
