500年前,这里的环境和现在相比没有太大差别。站在托斯卡纳芬奇小镇的山坡上放眼望去,一如今日,几个世纪的农耕塑造的景观一览无余:沿河丛生的芦苇、细窄狭长的葡萄园、镶嵌在绿荫中的房子; 在它们之上是一片橄榄树,当这些橄榄树被微风吹拂时,会闪着一种特别的光。橄榄树顺着梯田攀缘而上,朝着标志着阿尔巴诺山的高地边缘的那条多变、蜿蜒的林木线伸展。高处的山坡被森林覆盖,森林里长满了野生松树、月桂树、土耳其栎和甜栗树。山里的农民将栗子研磨成面粉,有的农民如今仍旧这样做,甜栗树在当地也曾被称为面包树。
